Ethylene glycol manufacturers share common uses of MEG (monoethylene glycol).

Aojin Chemical's Ethylene Glycol (MEG) is being loaded and shipped! What are the common uses of ethylene glycol?
Ethylene glycol (MEG) is an important basic chemical raw material, and its main uses are concentrated in the following areas:
1. Polyester production is the core application of ethylene glycol, accounting for the vast majority of its consumption:
Ethylene glycol reacts with terephthalic acid (PTA) through polycondensation to produce polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is then used to manufacture polyester fibers (such as polyester, used in textiles and clothing), polyester resins (used in plastic bottles, packaging containers, etc.), as well as films and engineering plastics.
2. Antifreeze and coolant are another major application of ethylene glycol. Due to its low freezing point and good thermal stability, it is often used in automotive engine coolants (antifreeze), aircraft de-icing systems, and as a coolant in industrial refrigeration cycles.

3. Solvent and intermediate role: Ethylene glycol can be used as a solvent for coatings, inks, dyes, and resins, and also as an intermediate for the synthesis of various chemical products, such as in the production of surfactants, plasticizers, and lubricants.
Other industrial uses include as a humectant, desiccant, gas dehydrating agent (such as in natural gas processing), and as a moisturizer or viscosity modifier in cosmetics.
