Methyl methacrylate MMA

1. Production of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA): The main application of MMA is as a monomer for the production of PMMA. PMMA, also known as organic glass, is a highly transparent plastic widely used in the manufacture of window glass, optical lenses, mirrors, equipment signs, transparent models, transparent pipes, taillight covers, instrument panels and housings, electrical insulation parts, etc. for aircraft, automobiles, and ships.

2. Surface coatings: MMA is used to produce surface coatings, including industrial solvent-based systems and water-based acrylic dispersions, for household and industrial use.

3. Adhesives and sealants: MMA is the main ingredient in the manufacture of various industrial adhesives, such as super glue, sealants, and structural adhesives, which play an important role in construction, automobile manufacturing, and home repair.

4. Organic synthesis: MMA is widely used as a reagent in organic synthesis and can be used to prepare a variety of organic compounds, including spices, flavors, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides.

5. Manufacture of methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene resin (MBS): MBS resin is a terpolymer of methyl methacrylate (M), butadiene (B) and styrene (S). It has a typical core-shell structure and is used as a modifier for PVC plastics.
